Fortnite is a Battle Royale game which is insanely popular and keeps adding new content and theme every now and then. But this time Epic has added new graphics to the game itself, meet the “Epic” graphics preset!
As per the new announcement by Epic, Fortnite is receiving a significant graphics overhaul as part of the game’s 17.00 update, which kicks off season 7 on June 8. It isn’t that Fortnite looks bad, its creative art style is great and adapts to new themes thrown at it, and coming from the creators of Unreal Engine, it runs fast with all the new fancy tech.
According to the Epic, if you play on the “Epic” graphics quality preset, both Battle Royale and creative mode will feature better storm and cloud effects. Smoke and liquid simulations are also being modified, which is supposed to result in better car explosions, better looking lakes and Slurp juice, and some weird ones like better fire effects for when you hit a house with a flaming arrow or firefly jar.
Apart from these, postprocessing features for lens flare, bloom, and shadow quality are being added to the game to enhance its overall look and feel.
Here are the required PC specifications if you want to run the game on these new graphics settings:
- Nvidia GTX 1080, AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, or equivalent GPU
- 4 GB VRAM or higher
- Intel Core i7-8700, AMD Ryzen 7 3700x, or equivalent
- 16 GB RAM or higher
- NVMe Solid State Drive
- Windows 10 64-bit
The recommended specs for the game remain unchanged, means that you won’t face any performance drops if you happen to own lower end/ older GPUs.
